The Taiwanese Green River Panels placed an order with Siempelkamp for the supply and installation of what will be Asia’s largest particleboard plant. The company is one of the leading woodbased products suppliers in Asia. Next to sawed timber from multi-year rubberwood plantations, the company also offers particleboard made from the same type of wood. The new plant will be built close to Trang in South Thailand, the center of the Thai latex production with extensive rubber-wood plantations.
Green River Panels already operates two production lines for particle board in Asia. The new Thai plant is intended to only process overaged plantation trees of which the latex return runs dry after 25 years. Next to its proximity to large plantations, the optimal access to the shipping ports of the Andaman Sea is part of the locational advantages of the new production site. From these ports Green River Panels will send its products all over the world.
The order Green River Panels placed with Siempelkamp includes the entire production plant. Sicoplan, the Belgium Siempelkamp subsidiary, will provide the overall planning of the plant. Modern engineering methods – for example the highly precise site and infrastructure surveying via laser scanning – incorporate all local conditions directly in the CAD plans and thus, guarantee maximum planning reliability. This ensures precise chronological coordination during the future installation phase already during engineering.
Next to the longest continuous press on the Asian continent, the new order includes even more superlatives: Büttner, the specialist for dryer and energy plants within the Siempelkamp Group, will supply Asia’s largest energy plant with a furnace capacity of 95 MW, as well as Asia’s largest drum dryer with a diameter of 7 m and a length of 36 m. The youngest Siempelkamp subsidiary Pallmann contributes the technology for the Green river Panels orders asia’s soon to be lonGest Contiroll® from siemPelkamP wood yard, CMC from Italy the screening technology, the resin kitchen, and the other resin blending system components including the new Ecoresinator P, which offers resin savings of up to 10%.
Siempelkamp will supply the components for the forming and press line as well as the board handling equipment including the intermediate storage. With the new order the first 9th generation ContiRoll® goes to an Asian customer. With a length of 50.4 m this continuous press will be the longest press in Asia. It will strengthen the manufacturer’s sustainable production philosophy with its numerous technical innovations that save energy, raw material, and other materials. The new Siempelkamp Press Controller SPC, for example, provides ideal pressure conditions in all areas of the press via purposefully used sensor technology and the intelligent pressure and position control system. Thus, production waste is effectively avoided in advance because the smallest tolerance deviations in the product are immediately detected and corrected by targeted measures.
Green River Panels is scheduled to commence operation with Asia’s largest particleboard plant in the third quarter of 2019. The plant is designed for a daily capacity of 2,800 m² of particleboard; the installation start is scheduled for October 2018. With the new production site Green River Panels will double its production capacity for particleboard in order to meet the constantly growing demand of the Asian market.
