Glorio launched innovative decorative surface solutions called CALYPSO PANELS in Mumbai on January 5, 2023. The launching programme was organised in association with the Ply Reporter Launch Pad, which was live broadcast from Mumbai on the Ply Reporter Facebook page. The product is excellent, of great quality, and has numerous application features in combination. On the occasion, their channel partners were also present online and offline that included Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Ply Mahal, Delhi; Mr. Navin Kumar Gupta, Reliance Plywood Corporation, Bengaluru; Mr. Abhishek Dhamani, Dhamani Laminates & Plywood, Jaipur; Mr. Sandeep Agarwal, Gomti Udyog, Guwahati; Mr. Chetan Oswal, Chintamani Laminates, Pune; and Mr. Nitesh Bafna, Chintamani Laminates, Pune. Gloirio has introduced several innovative products in the last six to seven years. The programme start with Mr. Prakash Rita, Director, Gloirio, welcomed the audience, including dealers and distributors.
The journey and the legacy of the brand
Gloirio is established in June 2016 with the goal of providing customers with value-added interior products that, once installed, must evoke memories of the past after a long time also. With the same passion, Mr Prakash Rita, the owner of the brand, is continuously running after innovation, offering excellent products to the customers. With the appreciation they get from dealers, distributors, and customers, they are today a pioneer in this segment, having a wide range of products.
Mr Prakash Rita says, "Gloirio is a brand that was initially launched for charcoal and leather laminates and led the market for two to three years." But, with time, we observed the change and came up with a wide range of acrylic laminates in 2 mm, 1.5mm, and 1mm in different innovative colours and designs. Even during COVID, we kept innovating, researching, and taking risks, with the confidence that if there was dealer support for the quality products, there would be sales. In September last year, we launched the GRACE PANELS line of products.
Q & A with Mr. Prakash Rita
Q. How do you see distributors selling model in decorative products?
Initially, we got a high boost from exhibitions and the support of the trade fraternity with their references and other support from the seniors like industry leaders, traders, and experts in terms of learning the trade, along with the support staff and salespersons in terms of enhancing sales. Later distributors also supported us after learning about the product. We took part in a lot of exhibitions to gain exposure and present our innovations. With such efforts, our range of products keeps enhancing. Today we are present in every single market for quality buyers, and continuously increasing our presence.
Q. How do you see the journey of surface products as everyday new products come in the market?
Definitely, without innovation, everyone stops, but moving up with the times is very important. Making a home is deeply connected to innovation, so people want new things while making their home that can look different from others. Rates and copy-pasting do not suit me. I believe in quality and the products driven by innovation.
Q. What should trade professionals do to grow in the decorative surface business?
The sharing of knowledge about products and their applications from the brand to distributors and then to the end segment of the chain is critical to the growth of the decorative surface business. In order to achieve high volumes of sales, it is also critical to keep the price reasonable. One has to have the right knowledge about the product's applications; only then can a person shares it and convince others to improve sales, so special attention should be given to its right applications and share with them. When a product is launched, that takes a lot of effort, innovation, and cost, so to understand that, take out some time to understand the product, then promote it.
Explain the CALYPSO PANELS !
The base material of CALYPSO PANELS is engineered wood, and the surface is a ceramic coating that is made after lots of processes. Different panels have different patterns with grooving and textures. These are the world-class designs that are currently available that has been covered in seven colors as of now. We've added two new lines of PU acrylic coats in white. With them in total, we will have 50 items into the market. The sizes are available in 8x2, which is a standard size. Besides, we have come up with two special sizes that are 8x3.3, taking care of the needs of architects and interior designers who like using it on table tops.
It can be cut in both ways vertically as well as horizontally, and its edges can be made unicore with our edge solutions. It is a very strong product that is also available in metal colors, giving it a very sleek appearance. Its standard thickness is 6 mm for use in doors, but the other thickness is 12 mm. It has different
designs that can be used in doors and living rooms as wall panelling. The combination of sheets can be used to get different seamless designs. It can be cut in any case because we have provided edge solutions as well.
The market demand for solid colours in decorative panels has been met with these CALYPSO PANELS. We have taken it one step forward with designs in solid colours.
Application procedure: It can be used anywhere in the interior as a decorative panel, using a base substrate such as normal plywood or MDF and sticking it with the normal glue used in laminate applications. Gloirio also sells glue, which can be substituted for any other glue on the market. It is an easy-to-apply product. The only precaution is to avoid using it on uneven surfaces. It is suitable for use in living rooms, banquet halls, and even the hotels. As a result, it has a wide range of applications.
