Royale Touche has introduced a revolutionary concept, Virtual Reality (VR), which is the first such innovative idea in Laminates industry for consumers to choose designs by visualizing in complete immersive 3D. The VR headsets are available in all 175 Royale Touche Showrooms pan India. Talking to the Ply Reporter, Mr Raj Patel, Director, Royale Touche Group explained the feature of VR in details.

Q. What is VR?

Virtual Reality (VR) is an advanced representation of a space. It allows for the customers to immerse themselves in a 3D environment and be able to visualize a complete room with all the furnishings like tables, wardrobes, bed stands, counter tops, cabinets and everything else. These are complete representations of what a room would look like when it is complete. The Royale Touche VR has over 50 different rooms that have been designed based on the various requirements of our clients and allows for them to visualize our laminate and flooring products in complete immersive 3D.

The customers wear the headset and are immediately immersed in a beautifully designed room of their choice. With the use of simple voice commands our team is able to change laminates on various surfaces in the room as per the selection of the clients. This allows for them to see how the products that they have selected would actually look once they have been cut and pasted on various surfaces like their wardrobes or cabinets. The 1:1 ratio of the laminate application in the VR also gives a crystal clear idea about how the furniture would turnout after the application.

Q. How is it helping the selection process?

The first step in the selection journey of the customer involves selecting designs from the entire collection of designs that have been displayed in full size from the showroom. This in itself helps the customer visualize his selection better because he is able to touch and feel the texture of the product and see the colours in the ideal light conditions. After that our experts would help them visualize these products on the VR headset in a room setting of their choice.

So if the consumer has selected a set of designs that he likes for his kitchen cabinets then he would be able to see how those designs would actually look on various cabinets of different sizes in a kitchen. This complete journey from selection to actual applications in a live 3D environment where the customers can see the application up close and from various different angles helps them easily decide on the laminates that they would like to buy for their dream space. They can also visualize how our laminate flooring also looks in each different room setting on the VR headset.

Q. Is it useful for consumers, Interior Designers and Architects?

As explained about it is very helpful for consumers because they may not be able to necessarily visualize their actual space and the usage of the laminates as envisioned by their interior designer. This 3D view clarifies all their doubts about the look and feel of the product. For the interior designers it becomes very easy to showcase the selection to the client and therefore avoid any confusion at a later stage. The 3D space where the client can even get a special idea of distances and sizes also allows them a better idea of how the entire room would look. The 1:1 actual scale of the laminates on the various surfaces also allows the client and the interior designers to correctly picture the grain structure of the products and how they would appear in an actual setting.

Q. Where is the VR headset available?

The VR headsets are available in all the 175 Royale Touche Showrooms that are present pan India in all the major cities. The devices have been a major draw for our clients who enjoy the realistic presentation of the product along with the cool feeling of being immersed in a futuristic technology. The pleasantly exciting experience is a very really contributor for our clients feeling of satisfaction in their selection process.
