‘A’ Grade Kraft Paper Price Skyrocketing, ‘B’ Grade Stable

The study indicates that "A" grade Kraft prices have increased significantly, which can be termed as a 10% to 15% price rise during the last 2 months. According to the report, ‘A’ grade Kraft paper was imported in large volume. The price of timber has increased across the globe, so the imported Kraft paper has also observed a price rise.

In India also, those who are making good quality Kraft paper have increased the price. As a result, the cost of producing high-quality laminate has risen and its effect will be felt in the market in terms of the rising price of high-grade quality laminates. It is to be noted that  ‘A’  grade Kraft paper is made from virgin wood pulp. As with the rising price of timber across the globe, the manufacturing input cost of ‘A’ grade Kraft paper has also risen and its effect is being seen in terms of the rising price of the finished goods.

On the other side, it is observed that ‘B’ grade Kraft paper prices are reported to ease since the last two months and in fact, the prices have dropped. Its prices were once over Rs 40/kg, but are now hovering around Rs 34/kg, putting 0.8mm and other lower segment laminate manufacturing in a comfortable zone.
