Plywood Associations advise a price hike of 5% due to high timber cost

The effect of high timber prices has been seen on the cost of Plywood in different states. The timber prices have reported to reach all time high in Northern India. The Poplar and Eucalyptus timber prices are noted to touch Rs. 1800 per quintal and Rs 1200 per quintal respectively in April month.

Punjab Plywood Manufacturers Association called an urgent meeting of their members on 25th April, 24, and decided to increase prices of Plywood to 5 % with immediate effect. Mr. Inderjeet Sohal, President, PPMA said that timber prices are going high day by day, and labour shortage also prevailing the high input cost of finished goods, hence we have decided to increase prices to 5%.

Mr. J. K. Bihani, President, Haryana Plywood Manufacturers also called a meeting on 27th April, 24 and issued an advisory to increase the prices of 5% on Plywood products due to high input cost due timber and labour crisis.

Members of Bihar Plywood Manufacturers Welfare Association called a meeting in Patna under President Mr Shamim Sajid and Secretary Mr. Sonu Agarwal on 29th April, 24 and discussed the recent hike in input cost due to high timber prices and labour cost. They have also decided to increase prices of Plywood to 5% from 1st May, 24.
