Kerala home interior sector has fond of WPC/PVC boards because of its climatic situation. The interior contractors and architects recommend using WPC/PVC boards in Kitchen, wardrobes, beds, tables, chairs and other home interior furniture works. Recent survey by Ply Reporter team in Kerala finds that each retail counter sells WPC/ PVC boards and they receive regular demand of these boards for home interior.
Retailers view that due to coastal area, there are humid climate in state, and water proof properties of WPC/PVC boards have offered the solution of interior application. Architects and Interior designers are also fond of these boards because of its complaint free properties due to moisture and termite. The Ply Reporter finds new exterior application of WPC/PVC boards in outdoor furniture, cladding, decking, floor pots etc. Many place it has seen the usage of flooring purpose as well.
Thomson group Multiwood leads in WPC/PVC boards market in state, Mr. Pradip, CEO of the company views that due to climatic reason these products market has grown in state, and Multiwood is the first company, who has been working very hard to offer quality products as well as awareness among users. Multiwood offers 0.7 density boards, which they import. Mr. Pradip says that Kerala consumes around Rs. 100 cr WPC/PVC boards every month and it is growing.
Ply Reporter finds the presence of appox 40 brands in this segment in the state, and most of them are imported. The leading Plywood brand in State such as Trojan Ply, Apple Ply, K- Boards etc are also offering WPC/ PVC boards in market. Brands like Bestiwood, Denwud, De-marc, Super Boards etc has seen good presence in the state. WPC products from the house of Century Ply, Greenply, Alstone WPC, Floresta, Saburi, Amulya etc are present in the market.
