It had been seen in the past few months that construction activities came to a complete halt at many regions across the country due to torrential and unrelenting spells of rain. Market experts anticipated a heavy blow to the shuttering plywood industry but contrary to their assumption the demand for shuttering ply sustained throughout the monsoon season.
However in many places such as Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Tamilnadu ,the destructive floods wreaked havoc, consequently the shuttering plywood in these regions took the toll. But as rehabilitation and reconstruction work began from August onwards, the demand for shuttering ply is returning even in hard hit areas.
As per Ply Reporter resources, the demand for shuttering ply in the metro cities and other areas remained intact due to scores of new commercial projects, real estate developments and many government funded infrastructure projects. However the real estate sector witnessed a few challenges owing to labour shortage in the months of May and June but as labour returns in July - August, the construction sites were seen in full swing, further boosting the shuttering ply demand.
Demand scenario of shuttering ply in South such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana , Kanataka has also seen to be promising barring some parts of Tamilnadu and nearby areas which were affected by deluge.
Expert says that the launching of new real estate projects, target to complete within timeline seeing strictness under RERA act has supported construction demand. Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities have witnessed good demand of Shuttering plywood as reported in August- Sept month.
