We have seen in the past one year, the Indian manufacturing in hinges and telescopic channels have increased following the mandatory QCO on these two hardware products. The impact will be seen on new entrants, as more new players, new brands from various categories including panel brands will enter in hardware space.
In the past 2-3 years we have seen that companies like GreenPly Samet, Dorset, E3 and few more are ramping up the facility of telescopic channels and hinges manufacturing units here.
Therefore, the year 2026 will witness more reliance on domestic manufacturing in hardware space and it is also expected that brands from west and north India panel industry will enter in manufacturing; roughly three to four entities from Haryana and Punjab will also be putting up new units and launching new products in hardware range.
Until now, the demand for indigenously made hardware products has been slim despite the enforcement of the BIS in hardware segment but for last couple of months, the domestic manufactures seem have realized the possibility of earning nice margin in the hardware as growing trend of OEMs, modular furniture makers & interior solution providers have triggered the hardware demand in recent years.
