North India Bagasse Board Association Suggests Price Revision Citing Inflated Bagasse Cost and Transport Overheads

Tuesday, 02 June 2026

North India Bagasse Board Association has issued a price revision advisory to all the Bagasse board manufacturers based in the various regions such as Moradabad, Muzzafarnagar, Yamunanagar, Kanpur, Sitapurand Ayodhya.

As per the association, major raw materials essential for the smooth functioning of the industry—Bagasse, Paper, Resin, and Firewood—have been severely impacted due to factors like unforeseen spike in the USD to INR exchange rate, acute shortage of Methanol at Indian ports, significant increase in Bagasse prices and continued escalation in logistics and transportation costs.

In view of the above circumstances, the impending price adjustment of ₹1.50 per sq. ft. has been advised with effect from 1st June 2026, to partially offset the substantial and sustained rise in input and logistics costs. The association also noted that after interim trade advisory, the further revisions will be communicated within two weeks if the conditions prevail.

The association further suggested that with the limited availability of film and prevailing environmental concerns, it is advised to refrain yourselves from the use of plastic packaging for boards until further notice. The association also requests industry cooperation in adopting alternative packaging solutions wherever feasible to ensure timely delivery and the best quality of our products during this difficult phase for the industry.
