Q. When and how did you enter into this business?
A. I started my business with the firm name of LE MICATEC in the year 2007. Initially I started with plywood, laminate and adhesive. In 2008 I got the opportunity for distribution of Sunmica brand for Pune market.
Q. How far has been your journey with Sunmica brand?
A. My association with Sunmica brand is for over a decade since last 10 years and journey has been smooth with steady growth. I would like to appreciate here that this smooth growth has been possible with a good support from company side and best thing I like about the company is there is no pressure or forced selling but yet I am able to contribute in generating good business with the company support.
Q. How did you first come to know about this brand and how important do you feel brand Sunmica has been for your business growth?
A. Sunmica being one of the oldest and most popular brands is already known to most of the Dealers, Architects, Interior Designers and customers. Earlier there was a limited range of colour patterns and specially textures but since last 5 years there has been a constant up gradation in the range in tune to today’s modern trends and overall there has been a vast improvement.
Q. What is the best thing do you like the most about Sunmica brand?
A. As per my experience, the best part of Sunmica brand is the excellent range consisting of above 500 plus colour patterns and the other best part is good availability of stocks from factory and Pune godown .Since today laminate business is very much dependent on proper availability and supply hence the company’s support in this direction has been remarkable.
Q. How do you find Sunmica brand after change of hands since 2011?
A. Since 2011 we are the part of Aica Group Japan and there is a lot of improvement in Quality of Product, New launches and more professional way of working.
Q. How important has been a long term association with a brand like Sunmica for the growth of dealers?
A. Long term association with Sunmica has helped me to establish a good customer base in Pune and my business volume has grown up in last 5 years .In my showroom daily footfall of Architects , Interior Designers and Customers has substantially which is very motivating and provides a boost for further growth of my business. A. Aica has also improved in terms of range of colours, textures in shade card, since last 5 years Japanese Trend Collection folder is excellent and well accepted by Architects and Interior Designers of Pune market. Some excellent finishes like Vision 3D, Shimmer, Celsus, Chemitect, Real Core and Meta Pearl has added a new niche to the product range.

A. In textures Aica has come up with new textures like Shinkuro Sync, Etched wood ,Fine Impression ,Woody Ash, Corinthian Wood ,Fern , Stitched Leather and Real Core Textures and all these are well accepted in our Pune market and resulting in good business .
Q. What is your opinion about new products such as Exterior, Anti scratch, Chemitect introduced by company in recent time?
A. All these newly developed products and finishes are excellent. We are hopeful of getting further good business in these products also in near future.
Q. What do you feel, is the best thing that has been offered by AICA in the last 3 years?
A. The best thing by AICA in the last 3 years has been its upgradation of product range. Also the fusion of Japanese flavours with its ethnic charms has impressed our major influencers, Architects and Contractors.
Q. According to you what is the advantage of Japanese technology for your customers?
A. The biggest advantage of Japanese technology for our customers is, we don’t have to make much effort in convincing our customers, regarding quality parameters, as Japan is known for Quality, Technology and Innovations. In your opinion, what new products should be added by the company in its product package in near future. In my opinion company should come up with Plywood as it has a very big market and also very supportive for laminates.
