Indian Plywood industry is moving toward high volume with good quality products. Industry is looking at all options, such as new machines, good layout, good quality raw materials, which can help them to produce high quality products hassle free. The industry is said to have installed more than 50 Core Veneer composers in India where as another 50 are expected to come shortly. The Machinery suppliers are upbeat about the growing acceptance and curiosity because manufacturers are looking for flawless quality and high production. Taiwan and China are the key supply origins for veneer composers. At present the Indian establishments who deal in core composers are CTC, Star International, Kalyan Machinery etc. which are active promoting benefits and requirement of core composers in present manufacturing process.
Talking to The Ply Reporter, Mr. Gaurav Chopal stressed that “Core composer improves plywood quality, save time and labor cost. It helps to bring down 6 trained people to just 3 people on 1 table apart from benefit of gap free plywood without any overlap.” According to CTC findings the estimated cost (including electricity, labor, glue and thread) comes down whereas quality enhances when one produce with help of core composers and pre pressing.
There is also a wave for switching to automatic sanding and top bottom sanding process instead of convention pattern or single side sanders. The installation of automatic sanding machines by plywood units to improve quality of products and make the production flow systemized. Mr. Sunil Srivastava from Kumar Engineering said, “He has received new orders and various queries during last three months and at Indiawood, Bangalore. Mr Sunil says that Industry is willing to set up automatic sanding machines for product quality improvements. Mainly those manufacturing units which produce more than 50 trucks per month are going for it.”
