Kwality Glass & Plywood Co, Jammu is a well known name in wood panel trade in the region which was initiated by Mr Rajneesh Gupta in 1992. He had been a helping hand of his father’s Saw Mil business during his college days. In the year 1996 when he got associated with SUNMICA his growth trajectory got wings. The Ply Reporter talked to Mr Rajneesh Gupta, Proprietor of Kwality Glass & Plywood Company, Jammu and wanted to know the contribution of brand Sunmica/AICA in his growth. Excerpts.
Q:- When and how did you enter into this business?
A:- In the year 1992 I entered into wood panel business. I was used to sitting with my father in shop when I was in my college days.
Q:- How far has been your journey with Sunmica brand?
A:- We have been associated with brand SUNMICA since 1996.
Q:- How did you first come to know about this brand and how important do you feel brand Sunmica has been for your business growth?
A:- I became aware about brand Sunmica after company representative visited us at our old shop.
Sunmica has become important brand for our business growth because of its brand reputation, quality and reliability.
Q:- What is the best thing do you like the most about Sunmica?
A:- The best thing about Sunmica is being generic name and it is easy to translate and convince our customers. Also now its improved range and quality has upper edge over competing brands.
Q:- How do you find Sunmica brand after change of hands since 2011?
A:- Range has been diversified after it took over by Japanese.
Q:- How important has been a long term association with a brand like Sunmica for the growth of dealers?
A:- It has become important brand for our growth as customers demand the product because of its quality and range.
With the changing modern marketing style to offer laminates to market with vibrant colors, textures, schemes, new launches with aggression.
Q:- In this regard what is your perception about AICA?
A:- Sunmica/AICA has emerged as powerful brand in last 4-5 years and it has also introduced new color patterns and finishes better than most of the competitors.
Q:- What are the best things with AICA for Jammu and surrounding market?
A:- It has become popular brand in Jammu and surrounding areas because new range introduced by the company is very much appealing to most of the customers in the region.
Q:- Jammu market consumes huge quantity of 0.8mm sheets, what is your take and how does AICA fulfill the demand?
A:- Since we are not dealing in 0.8mm thickness and we have clientage of 1mm thickness only at Jammu region which are being fulfilled comfortably.
Q:- How do you see business with brand AICA after GST?
A:- Business with brand SUNMICA has improved a lot after GST in terms of supply and costing.
Q:- What do you feel, is the best thing that has been offered by AICA in the last 3 years?
A:- The best thing that company has been offering in last three years is the improved product range with the incorporation of latest design and finishes in tune to today’s market trends.
Q:- According to you what is the advantage of Japanese technology for your customers?
A:- As Japanese are known for their quality so when we say it is Japanese product, customers get convinced easily and readily accept the product.
Q:- What is your opinion on new range recently introduced by AICA?
A:- Kaiya range is quite impressive and innovative, new folder of 1mm is also full of latest designs and textures.
