Particle Boards Production Reaches 50%

After a long pause, Wood Particle Boards sector has started getting some relief from second half of June. It has reported from Kutch and Saurashtra region that most of the wood particleboards producing companies have gradually been getting back to normal. Mr. Kanti Patel of Rangoli Laminates, Morbi said that all his units are successfully running 12 hours a day from the second fortnight of June, and it is likely to improve by the first fortnight of July, because laborers are supposed to be back soon. He says that he had sufficient orders in hand, but due to labor shortage, he was unable to run the plant, now particle boards sector in this region are back to normal, and they are getting adequate quantity of raw materials as well as demand. \

On the contrary, Baggage based manufacturing units in Gujarat have started their production in May, having advantage over wood because of the early start. It is reported that the producers have had sufficient stock of Baggage this season, and they wanted to consume this as soon as possible. Mr Amrit Patel of Levis Particle Boards said that he has been running his plant at 50 % capacity since May, and has adequate orders on advance payments. They benefitted because wood-based particle units have started late due to labor shortage.

It is noted that Pre-lam Particle Board usually has good demand from April to June every year but due to COVID, this demand had suffered a lot, however the industry expects that they will be back to normal by July and August, and it will gradually increase. Particleboards demand was reported to be good in many governmentrelated works from making temporary isolation centers and hospitals.
