Keeping in view of the substantial hike in price of all raw materials like PVC resin and chemicals along with major hike in cost of international freight and PVC film by more than 15-30 percent in last 45 days, All India PVC Laminates Manufacturer Association (AIPLMA) has decided to increase the price of PVC laminate by Rs 100 per sheet.
The decision has been taken in a virtual online meeting of the members of AIPLMA organised on November 21, 2020. The increased price has become effective with immediate effect. The owners of PVC laminates brand such as Skydecor, Meraki, Allcor, Mistika, Crystal, Stanley, Royal Glow, Nusmart, Sparrow, Silken, Black Cobra, Eurobrite, Crossbond, Singhlam, Advance, Kleido, etc participated in meeting and collectively agreed to increase the prices to meet high input costs.
Talking with The Ply Reporter, the members opine, they are compelled to increase the prices due to high raw materials prices along with other costs. Mr. Manoj Bansal, Skydecor informs, ‘PVC resin, which is the main component was priced at Rs 70 per kg in June, which jumped to Rs 90 per kg by September and we all raised our prices by Rs 50/ sheet in 1st week of October, but now it has jumped to Rs 120 per kg in last week .
Mr. Sanyam Singla, MD, Meraki says that almost all manufacturers are facing shortage of PVC film because of import-export cycle is not proper, irrespective of price hike in containers which is 400000 INR for 40 ft now, Containers are even not available, A price hike of USD 1000 more is expected to hike in ocean freight from December, Now the production time and transit time of containers is almost double. Besides, all other additives also have a big hike like 20-25%.
Mr. Abhinav Choudhary of Stanley, Mr Vikas Mangal and Mr. Bhubnesh Jain of Smart PVC back the fact and say that heavy increase in cost of raw material i.e PVC resin, Chemicals, freight has forced us to increase the prices of finished products.
