Kumar Engineering Co has proved its presence in the country as well as overseas through Make in India initiative, has made a footprint in social work also. With this initiative the company has donated a double head wide belt top sanding machine to the students of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun for research purpose.
Mr Arun Singh Rawat, Director, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun appreciated for the cause and said that this has been possible due to the extended support of Mr SC Jolly, President, Wood Technologists Association (WTA). He further said, “The industry should come forward to support such cause as whatever research the students do, will benefit to the industry. The times are changing at the same time; the challenges are also taking new shapes. Research is needed to meet the requirements for new challenges.”
On this occasion SC Jolly said that the machine will definitely help the students and as with this exposure, MSc Wood Tech students will learn more about new technology. He further said that to make India self reliant the scientists at FRI are leaving no stone unturned. During the discussion the emphasis was also laid on onsite and institutional training, demonstration and testing collaboration with Yamunanagar Wood Industries, Wood Technologists, Tree Growers and Farmers.
Dr. NK Upreti present on the occasion spoke about ongoing research on extension activities of Melia, Corymbia, Poplar and Agro-forestry models and training to farmers. Other prominent personality present on the occasion shared their views and appreciated the efforts to facilitate the platform for discussion. They also thanked the initiative of Mr Sunil Srivastava, CEO, Kumar Engineering Co. for this cause.
