Doors Manufacturers have announced to increase the prices of finished doors from 12 to 15 %, effective from 1st September, 2021. Mr V. K. Patel from Kalpataru Doors said, “We have already announced price revision by 12-15% effective from 1st September, 21 and we hope that everyone should declare a date within this month and make revised prices effective from that date. This shall help us to maintain our margins, and shall be in the interest of our industry.”
He further adds that raw materials for doors manufacturing have a higher share (almost to the tune of 70%) of imported, so the pressure on us has been higher due to many international events affecting supplies as well as prices. One factor which is affecting the rise in prices is overseas containers, whose availability is in extreme shortage, and prices for the container have shoot up by an unbelievable increase of 400% to 500%; and in spite of such premium in pricing, the availability is not assured thus jeopardising supply schedules. Tightening credit norms by our raw material supplier, combined with increase in the prices of almost all the raw material which goes into door manufacturing will require us to rethink our pricing strategy.
Mr. Jitendra Goyal of Dormak supported the decision of door manufacturers and said that we should increase the prices of finished doors seeing the high prices of every raw material.
Mr. Ashraf M A, Feroke Boards LTD says that the prices of all raw materials are increasing continuously due to unprecedented increase in the cost of shipment. Container cost from Bintulu to Cochin has shot up from USD 700 to USD 3000 during this period. Prices for most materials used in construction are faced with similar increases in costs. As a result, Most of the customers are receptive to price increases for doors since cost increases are evident in all materials used in construction. I agreed with the decision of doors producers to increase prices to 15 % for all types of doors manufactured.
