A counterfeit CenturyPly Particle boards seller nexus was busted by the police authorities of industrial sector-7, Manesar, Haryana. “The accused Timber World, Gurugram, Haryana was running a racket supplying spurious particle boards in the name and style of the famous CenturyPly to one of our reputed OEM in Delhi & NCR and was caught red handed stocking the same,” stated Mr Krishna Kumar Singh, the member from the legal team of CenturyPly.
The police registered an FIR u/s 420 IPC, 63/65 Copyright Act, on complaint by Krishna Kumar Singh and conducted the raid. The spurious boards, stickers etc were also all seized and a suitable Criminal Case has been initiated against these counterfeiters who have been trying to fool the public at large.
The company official revealed that this is the first case in his knowledge that any vendor who was caught with counterfeiting Century Particle Boards using fake identity of the company. It came into picture when the OEM directly approached the company for supply and found the previous delivery was counterfeit with duplicate stickers and markings on boards. On their complaint the company legal team acted upon it immediately and the nexus was busted.
The company works on its own terms and conditions without compromising with any discrepancies, but some vendors wish to have higher profit and indulge into such activity which is wrong for them as well as the industry at large as it creates a dent on services and goodwill. The company has to face financial implications from the customers, says the company.
From the security point of view the company is proactively creating market awareness of such things and the legal team is also very active checking such incidents and taking strict action against them. The company also has plans to introduce security features with every sheet of its Particle Board in future like plywood and laminate.
