The rising temperature in the summer season is getting tough for laminate sector. Inferior quality is the reason being told by markets. The laminate producers and traders are reportedly puzzled with increasing complaints of crack in sheets from various sites. Retailers are sending photographs to distributors and company representatives in their respective areas related to complaints of sheet cracks.
Especially in the Northern, Western and Eastern region the issues are being observed frequently. In these regions the temperature is already over 40 degrees and some parts are experiencing even more up to 45 degree. With rising temperature several complaints of cracks on laminate sheets photographs have been received by The Ply Reporter as well.
The dealers and retailers have shared pictures and information that the issue needs to be addressed by the manufacturers immediately. They said that due to high temperature sheets are getting cracked. The reason behind it they think that is happening due to low quality resin being used in the product making.
The regular complaint from the customers’ side has made them uneasy doing business, despite that the manufacturers and suppliers are not taking it into account and are uninterested in resolving the issues despite several warnings. From Lucknow, Gurugram, Delhi, Punjab, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, etc the dealers have sent pictures to the Ply Reporter office and appeal to highlight these quality issues through reports and webinar for further course of action and improvement of product qualities.
The Ply Reporter talked to laminate manufacturing technicians, who say that in the summer season with rising temperature such issues in low quality laminates are common. It happens because urea is used more than the required amount while making resin. The reports received from the market and sites confirm that more such issues are being seen in laminates sheets of thickness of 0.8mm, 0.72mm, liner etc.
The dealers’ pain point is that they are not able to recover payment from the customers due to complaints. So, they are asking manufacturers to come forward and look into the matter. The complaints of bubbles developing on furniture after applications are coming out in the PVC laminate category also. Many of the dealers in this segment also have sent pictures to the Ply Reporter and asked to do something positive to resolve the issue.
