A UP GIS (Global Investment Summit) road show was organised in Delhi to encourage investment in the state. As a part of the industry segment, woodbased industry conglomerates also participated in the road show. They demonstrated the potential of wood-based industries, with the IIA playing an important role in attracting investment in the wood-based industry. Chief Secretary of UP Mr Durga Shankar Mishra addressed & invited the investor to invest in the state. On the occasion Mr Ashok Agarwal, President, IIA also addressed the potential investors.

In this road show, Honorable Minister of State for Forest and Environment Shri Arun Kumar Saxena served as Chief Guest, and Honorable Minister of State Shri Krishan Pal Malik, ACS Shri Manoj Singh (IAS), PCCF Smt. Mamta Sanjeev Dubey, and Director General Forest Shri C P Goyal were present. Through this road show, investment proposals worth Rs. 3000 crore were received from about 80 investors. A big project on Bamboo base from Bengal also has shown interest to invest more than 1000 crore. “During the discussion the government also gave proposal to develop Furniture Park in Western UP. If the investors come the government is ready to facilitate with land and other necessary
support,” said Mr Ashok Agarwal, President, IIA. Over 80 potential investors took part in the Delhi road-show. It was the third domestic roadshow, after Mumbai and Chennai. In addition to these, one was also held in Lucknow recently. A round of Business to Government (B2G) meetings between


ministers, senior officials, and entrepreneurs discussed various investment possibilities in UP, its 25 sectoral policies, law and order, etc. throughout the day, and in the midst of these personal meetings, the officials addressed the investors.
