Greenply Acquires Naming Rights for Mumbai’s Lower Oshiwara Metro Station

Industry reports indicate that commuters are particularly receptive to branding within high-dwell environments such as stations and transport hubs, which offer extended periods for brand engagement.

Greenply Industries Limited, has acquired the naming rights for the Lower Oshiwara Metro Station (Yellow Line 2A) in Andheri, Mumbai. This strategic move is in collaboration with the MMMOCL (Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd.) and Signpost India Ltd.

“At Greenply, we’ve always believed in meeting our audience where they are, both physically and emotionally. With this transit media strategy, we’re not just advertising; we’re becoming a part of people’s everyday journeys. Whether someone sees our brand on buses, bus shelters, a metro station, or on full trains, the goal is to seamlessly blend into the rhythm of urban life while reinforcing our core values of quality and innovation.” said Yatnesh Pandey, Vice President – Marketing at Greenply.

The acquisition underscores the growing prominence of transit media as a high-impact channel for brand visibility, driven by increasing metro ridership. Industry reports indicate that commuters are particularly receptive to branding within high-dwell environments such as stations and transport hubs, which offer extended periods for brand engagement.

Greenply’s strategy leverages this trend by integrating its brand identity into Mumbai’s high-traffic urban infrastructure. This aims to maximize brand recall among consumers during their decision-making process or interior materials, which often involves long purchase cycles that require brand familiarity and trust.

This latest initiative builds on Greenply’s history of forward-thinking OOH efforts. The company previously launched ‘Zero Emission’ bus shelters in Delhi, constructed with its eco-friendly plywood and equipped with real-time air quality monitors and plant-based air purification systems. These shelters served a dual purpose, combing branding with public utility.
