On the eve of 22nd November, the volume player, Virgo group has announced to reduce of prices of laminates in different categories with immediate effect, reasoning softening of raw material prices. The company letter mentioned the price reduction to Rs. 60, Rs 40, and Rs 30 per sheet in 1 mm, 0.8 mm, and Doors Skin respectively including GST.
Speaking to the Ply Reporter, the company Managing Director, Mr S.P Arora said, that "Virgo Group keeps its customers on top priority. Earlier, when raw material cost inflated badly, the company was forced to increase the prices and the market supported that undoubtedly, Now it is time to extend the relaxation."
Mr. Surinder Arora expressed that "the prices are certainly volatile and it may rise up again in next few weeks, that we don't know but for now, the prices must be passed on to markets to keep the customers easy".
It is noted that during the last few days, there has been a reduction in prices of Melamine and Methanol which has resulted in easing up of pressure on laminate decorative panel producers for now. The impact on lower-cost price is certainly going to be visible on laminates, doors, and decorative panels in the coming weeks. It has is also being noted that many companies have reduced the prices of liner laminates to Rs 30 per sheet during last week.
