BPMA announces to increase Plywood prices by 5%

Thursday, 01 June 2023

The Bengaluru Plywood Manufacturers Association (BPMA), after a discussion with members and industry representatives, has announced a 5% price rise on plywood, block board, and flush doors. The price rise has been made effective with immediate effect.

They also requested that the payment be made immediately or within 7 days of relies of materials on order. The decision was taken in a meeting held on May 31, 2023, after a discussion on various issues like timber scarcity, a steep increase in the cost of timber, labour costs, and the unavailability of skilled labour.

In a release issued by the association, Mr Jitendra R Patel, President, The Bengaluru Plywood Manufacturers Association (BPMA) said, "Mainly the prices of round logs have increased by more than 20%, and the unavailability of the same has become unavoidable and forced us to increase the product rates.

"Under the above circumstances, we have unanimously agreed and have taken the decisions for the growth of our industry to survive," he added.
