In an effort to promote sustainable development and conserve the environment, Greenply Industries, one of India’s largest interior infrastructure brands, announced that it would plant 50 million saplings by 2025. The company plans to plant these saplings in Gujarat, Nagaland, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
With environmental responsibility and climate change becoming increasingly important, Greenply Industries recognizes that creating a greener future is essential. By setting this ambitious target, the company aimed to restore forests, ght deforestation, and improve the overall ecological balance.
In addition to protecting the environment, the plantation activity will promote sustainable raw material procurement, ecosystem nancial viability, and provide employment opportunities to local citizens.
Mr Manoj Tulsian, Joint Managing Director & CEO of Greenply Industries, commented on their commitment to sustainability and environmentalism by declaring their aim to plant 50 million saplings by 2025. In addition to tree-planting, the company is also tackling environmental concerns such as cutting down emissions and striving towards renewable energy sources.
He notes, “In the coming years, the focal point in our sustainability agenda will be to objectively consider all potential sustainability impacts that might aect both our business and stakeholders, going beyond the nancial and strategic risks we currently take into consideration.”
Throughout its operations, Greenply has implemented numerous sustainable practices and initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and enhance resource eciency. As part of its eorts to reduce its carbon footprint, it has invested in advanced technologies and processes. As part of its eorts to create a virtuous cycle of sustainable development that benefits both the company and the environment, the company has already begun reforestation.
As part of its commitment to promote sustainability, Greenply has taken the following crucial steps:
- By March 31st, 2023, Greenply will have planted 24.85 million saplings covering 31,714 acres of land, with a goal of 50 million saplings by 2025.
- In addition, the company engages in agroforestry, encouraging the growth of hybrid eucalyptus trees that benet the environment and the local community.
- In their boilers, steam coal has been replaced with in-house waste - saving 2,69,130 kg of natural fuel.
- Greenply launched India’s rst E-0 plywood range to set a new standard for the industry; their Green and Optima products meet CARB and US EPA formaldehyde emission standards. In addition, the organization has been recognized internationally for its efforts, as they have been awarded FSC®–FM certication for interior infrastructure.
