All India Plywood Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) held a meeting in Yamunanagar on 30th June during which Mr Devendra Chawla and Mr Naresh Tiwari the newly elected President and Chairman of the association respectively were felicitated. Different bodies of plywood association werealso present in the meeting who felicitated them. Association president Mr Balendra Singh including Face Veneer Association President Mr Mannu Chhavda and Chairman Birendra Ajmani, Joria Timber Association’s representative Mr Sahab Singh Prince, Jagadhri Timber Association’s Mr Vedpal, Mehem Singh Dahiya, Plywood Machinery Manufacturers Association’s Mr Jagmohan Singh, Guru Amar Industries’ Mr Amarjit Singh, Darshan Engineering’s Balbir Singh, Srichakra Engineering’s Mr. Sridhar etc congratulated to Mr Chawla and Mr Tiwari during the programme.
Mr Devendra Chawla, President, AIPMA said, “We should do our business with transparency, so that do not have to face difficulties in coming days. Government has been imposing tax after tax earlier and now in terms of GST higher tax of 28 % on Plywood has been imposed which must be curtailed.” He further said, “Plywood industry provide over one crore employment directly or indirectly, altogether paying tax in plenty, still the government do not care for them.”
Talking about 28 percent GST on plywood he said that to bring it down to 18 percent. He said further that government is not willing to talk. If Govt do not care us, they will have to face agitation from Plywood industry. He said there are over 3300 plyboard industries in India in which over 5 lakh workers, on the other hand over 10 lakh farmers are associated with this industry. If the government imposes higher tax on us, the industries will come to the closer, then how come these workers and associated farmers will survive?
During the meeting Patron in Chief Prof Sarwan Agrawal, Panjab Plywood Association’s President Mr Indrajeet Singh Sohal, Delhi- NCR PMA President Mr Vikas Khanna, HPMA President Mr Ajay Maniktalla welcomed the august gathering.
