Yamunanagar based Plywood industry producers have decided to shut their boiler operation for 3 days from 29th to 31st March, 21 due to sudden rise in prices of timber. A meeting of Haryana Plywood Manufacturers Association held in Yamunanagar, and members said that there is shortage of timber to industry presently due to harvesting season, as well as labour shortage, hence they should opt to shut their Boiler operation for 3 days on Holi festival occasion.
Mr. J K Bihani, President of HPMA said that due to lesser availability of timber, the prices have increased by 8 to 10 percent on Poplar and Eucalyptus. Besides, Industry also has been suffering from shortage of Face Veneer, labor and demand of finished goods. HPMA believes that this decision will ease the pressure of raw materials shortage, although the purchase of timber and dispatch of finished products remain during this time.
