Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) Bhopal Chapter organized its three-day exhibition “Showcase 2018” at Dussehra Ground, Bittan Market Bhopal which was held from September 8 to 10, 2018. The innovative design event was inaugurated by Mr Alok Sanjar, Member of Parliament from Bhopal. Some of the dignitaries also graced the occasion. The event which is sponsored by Kerovit by Kajaria and Patel Timbers and Plywood and co-sponsored by Stonekraft, Jaqaur Lighting, Qutone, Daikin and, Impression Furnitures & from wood panel industry Sarda Plywood, Glo Panels, is an endeavor to provide a platform to the trade members, partners, curators, artists, painters and architectures to showcase their creative and tremendous products at centrally located place under one roof.
The first day of the showcase 2018 witnessed two workshops conducted by Nerolac Paints where the participants were told about the paints and designs while in the second workshop which was held thereafter had a session on hand block printing by Mr. Maleywar. Around 60 students of Bhopal attended the workshop with zeal and gusto and learned about the design and printing. IIID has stepped another successful footstep by organizing this event with 130 exhibitors. The institute showcased had 75 stalls last year highlighting and enhancing the Interior Design fraternity. This has been made possible through an incorporation of all the stake holders including Architects, Interior Designers, Trade Representatives, Design Students, Contractors, Media and Educationists.
More than 130 exhibitors have showcased their variety of products for the embellishment of the house like for the washroom, drawing room, kitchen, bedroom, lobby, living area, etc. The exhibition targets professionals across the nation, future professional from all architecture and interior designing colleges and institutes.
IIID’s ‘Showcase-2018’ second day sparks with high spirits. On the second day, Industry Minister Rajendra Shukla, Women and Child Development Minister Archana Chitnis graced the occasion as the chief guests. While District Bhopal Collector Sudam Khade and Mayor Bhopal Alok Sharma were the guests of honour.
In this national exhibition being organised at huge and magnificent level, eminent designer experts from different fields held dialogues in the panel discussion. Experts were Anubhi Beohar, Head Design Consultant, Mrignayanee and Director and Designer, AWAMA, Noopur Tiwari, Communication Designer, Associate Professor, School of Journalism and Communication, Shampa Shah, Ceramic Artist and Curator, ID Ravisha Merchant, Interior Architect and Art Consultant, Ankit Jain, Creative and Strategy Head and Kokila Bhattacharya, Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Social Activist. Coordinator of the panel discussion was Ravisha Merchant. They shared their thoughts on how each design is related to other design. They also threw light on the nuances of designs in today’s era. The present committee comprises of Ar Mayooree Saxena, Chairperson, ID Kirti Shrivastava, Hon. Secretary, Ar. Manoj Chaubey, Chairperson Elect, Ar Akshay Selulkar, Founder Chairman, Ar Rishi Sahu, Treasurer, Ar Kamalroop Singh, Immediate past Chairman who played najor role in organizing this and making it a very successful event.
