There was indeed a significant sluggishness in demand reported during July and August months this year. The weakness induced fear and doubts among the wood panel sector enterprises. The industry people were unsure of the demand and felt struggle even during August 3rd week but the market demand seems to be riding back as there are improvements in material lifting post 3rd week of august. The momentum is now better thus brightening the hope to maintain the sales numbers or even some growth going sales tally up in July-September 2022 quarter.
Reports from decorative laminates, decorative veneers, decorative highlighters and panels find robust demand since third week of august. During an Exhibition “Matecia” held in Delhi the sentiments among trade people were very positive for better demand scenario. The lifting of materials from factories are expected to continue better during next 2-3 months said the experts.
Dealers reported to be very much excited about market response after a dull period in the rainy season. Dealers say that there are many new projects, renovation works are reported in different areas and before Dusshera and Deepawali, and there is every year phenomenon of good demand. Recently two dozen laminates brands have introduced new folders during these months. The stable raw materials prices have been helping the decorative laminates industry to offer better products in the market. Acrylic laminates, new range in louvers, PVC laminates etc also supports the growth of the surface décor sector.
Branded Plywood and MDF sector are also upbeat due to improved demand in the market. As per report, they have sufficient orders of materials from different markets, and they have been utilizing full capacity

Mid segment plywood producers located in Haryana and Punjab has been struggling because of increasing economical grade plywood products from Kerala, Bihar and Nepal.
