Shuttering Ply Demand Drops Due To Heavy Rain in Sep

Film faced Shuttering plywood segment demands were reported to drop by 25% in September month due to heavy rain at many places. Experts say that the construction activities have been slowed due to heavy rain reported in several states, which is a regular phenomenon every year. North India based Shuttering Plywood manufacturing units were forced to reduce the working hours during this month and many production units are reported to run single shifts of their operation.

Shuttering Plywood suppliers from Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi etc have spoken to the Ply Reporter correspondents and told that they face the drop in lifting of materials from construction companies in the rainy season every year. Many report that they also face complains in material in rainy season because the contractors don’t care the handling of materials in rainy days, hence many suppliers are hesitant to supply the shuttering ply in this season, because if there are complains there is chance to stuck the old payments and they may face dispute with contractors and manufacturers.

It is noted that North India is the major supplier of Shuttering Plywood India but recently there is increasing supply of materials from other states also such as Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Visakhapatnam, Gujarat, Maharashtra as well.

Saburi Plywood and SIAM Ply have recently started manufacturing Shuttering Plywood at their Vizag based manufacturing unit. Kerala based Plywood units are reported to increase their production capacity and cater the demand of southern India’s good quality products market.

Reports from different construction sites indicate that the Shuttering Plywood demand will start improving from October month, because the construction works have come back with bang and the announcement of new real estate projects and the Government infra.
