Kriday Plywood has started commercial production of its laminate manufacturing in Gujarat. The inauguration of the facility based at Gandhidham was done on May 16, 2019 with ribbon cutting ceremony performed by GUJARAT GST COMMISIONER, Mr Vijender Gupta (CMD), his son Mr Jai Gopal Gupta (MD) and other eminent personalities of the city. On this occasion there was pooja and chanting of Radha Krishna bhajans, which was attended by a huge gathering of 2000 people including members of Kandla Timber association and its officials. People were overwhelmed by being blessed with the chanting of mantra and listening bhajans on this occasion.
Sri Vijender Gupta (Narela Wale) welcomed all the guests and shared his vision and objective to venture into laminate manufacturing business. The laminate manufacturing facility is spread in an area of 10 acare (out of 80 acare total factory area) equipped with latest machines for manufacturing, drying and conveying. Having adopted an efficient automated process the factory looks neat and clean. With 16 day-lights of one press their manufacturing capacity is 1.25 lakh/month and they have targeted to achieve 5 lakh sheets by adding more presses in future.
They are basically timber traders and saw millers having goodwill of being one of the biggest timber importers in India. The timber business had been started by Mr Vijender Gupta, as he is a very much socialised personality of Delhi as well as Gujarat regions. Nearly 35 years ago at Gandhidham, Gujarat he ventured into timber business and gradually opted for plywood, veneer, saw mills and now laminate manufacturing in association of his son Mr Jai Gopal Gupta (MD). The laminate business is being looked after by Kriday Plywood Industries Limited while Jai Gopal International Impex Pvt. Ltd. already has timber imports activities and other operations. Face Veneer, Plywood and Laminates have been introduced under Kriday Plywood Industries Pvt. Ltd.
“To offer innovative solutions we have ventured into laminate industry to fulfil the market needs which is now shifting more to architects and designers. Automation is being adopted for using materials so this will also serve the purpose of modular furniture industry at a great extent,” said Mr Jai Gopal Gupta. KRIDAY laminate is made with 100% Phenolic water proof resin which is resistant to immersion in boiling water. Made with imported decorative paper, innovative and fresh textures and design with High thermal resistant, High quality back sending with German technology KRIDAY is also resistant to color change and cracking in high heat condition. It is three times glossier than others, longer life and 100% true value of money, he added. “This is a continuous process to come into higher thicknesses and within six month we will be able to come up with 1mm laminate range. The speciality of our production is 100% Phenolic and Urea free goods which will give good result after application,” he added further.
“Our distribution search is continuing. As of now we have presence in states of Punjab, Delhi, Western UP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana etc for the newly launched laminate and by the end of this year we will have presence across the country. We are already branding plywood with JG Ply since last seven years and the laminates are being sold with KRIDAY Laminates. We are committed to bring more innovative and quality product range in coming time. As of now one catalogue of KRIDAY has been introduced into the market in 0.72mm category. Also we are manufacturing interior cladding board of 6mm and 12mm thickness as a value added product in this segment. Among the capacity utilisation of laminate segment nearly 80 percent is dedicated to laminate manufacturing and rest is cladding. The production is based on both imported as well as quality Indian papers,” revealed Mr Jai Gopal Gupta.
