Plywood manufacturing associations seek qco implementation ontime

Haryana Plywood Manufacturers Association HPMA has written a letter to the Prime Minister Office, Ministry of Commerce & Industry and has sought for timely Implementation of QCO 2023 on Plywood, Wooden Flush Doors & Block Boards. The recent QCO of 2023 on wood products is further going to be a milestone in terms of quality consciousness among the Consumers and it will put our country among the leading quality manufacturing nations.

In a letter dated 28th February, HPMA mentioned that certain sections of the business community have requested the Govt. to extend the implementation by a few years. We oppose any postponement of the QCO 2023 and desire scheduled implementation of the QCO. The association also requests to consider granting a relief in marking fees to the extent of 80% to small units also as has been done for the Micro units.

On 17th February, the Association office bearers of All India Plywood Manufacturers Association and Punjab Plywood Manufacturers met Mr. Som Prakash, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry for timely implementation of QCO on Plywood.

It is noted that QCO on Plywood was notified on 28th August 23, which has been effective from 29th February. There is a grace period for Small and Micro Industry for another 3 months respectively.
