Increasing timber prices are pushing the cost of thin MDF in India, and it has been reported to increase the prices up to 5 % from thicknesses ranging from 1.9mm to 6 mm MDF. Market scenario and pricing study done while writing this news reveal that increasing demand of thin MDF is supporting the price acceptance in thin segment but thick range MDF is still facing a supply push.
Due to the festive and marriage season, there has been a consistent demand by gifting, sports, and framing and decor purposes of thin MDF. Pre-laminated thin MDF has also noted decent pickup lately in the furniture and interior sector for wardrobe, almirah, bed side, etc. The added reason also attributed because India have been primarily importing thin MDF in good volumes till late where as producers locally have been less. Now a number of Conti role lines have started producing thin MDF that has powered the supply of thin MDF in India. This change is also adding up to stabilising improvement in the thin mdf market.
Conti role manufacturing brands such as Century Prowud, Action Tesa, Rushil Decor, Green Panel etc supply thin MDF in Plane and Pre-laminated both. Since MDF producers are nowalso exporting MDF to different countries is adding up to the improved equilibrium locally.
