Strong Dollar against rupees has compelled India’s PVC laminates producers to increase prices by Rs. 100/- with immediate effect. A meeting of PVC manufacturers’ forum held on 15th September, where all 8 members attended and discussed about the situation of raw materials cost after strengthening dollar prices. Members said that entire raw materials are imported, hence their input costs are directly affected and they have to pass this increased cost into market immediately. Evaluating the present situation, the forum has decided to increase the selling rates of PVC laminates by Rs. 100 per sheet.
PVC laminates Manufacturers Forum was attended by representative of Skydecor Industry, Meraki, Stanley, Eurobrite, Singhlam, Black Cobra, Crossbond and Allcor laminates. Mr. Abhinav Choudhary, Member of Forum told The Ply Reporter that the decision of price hike was collectively taken by all members and it would be in effect immediately.
PVC laminates are the fastest growing surface décor panel and its demand is growing day to day. Apart from more than dozen of domestic producers, there are 40 more trading houses which are importing these materials with plain and innovative colors & designs. The weakening rupee also affected the business of imported grade PVC laminates and they are asking increased price from market, depending on range and quality.
