The Ahmedabad Timber Merchants’ Association - one of the prominent wood based industry bodies of India on completion of its 75 years in service to the industry celebrated the DIAMOND JUBILEE and organised a mesmerising program with a lot of activities and knowledge sharing sessions.
The program was Amrit Mahotsav held on 17 April 2022 at Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Ahmedabad. ATMA was established on 12 April 1947 by Shri Ramanbhai Gordhandas Gajjar and the first president was Shri Kanaiyalal Karilal Nagori and First secretary was Shri Dashrathlal Chinubhai Sheth.
On the occasion of celebration of DIAMOND JUBULEE around 600 - 650 members attended the event to which Sr Vice President of GCCI Mr Pathik Pathwari was the guest of honour. On the occasion ATMA officials which included: President, Mr Indrvadan Mistry (Mukesh Lamiantes); Vice-President, Mr Chintan Sheth (Maganlal Manilal Sheth); Hon. Secretary, Mr Vipul Patel (Ambica Timber Mart) along with the Committee Members were present.
During the event ATMA felicitated their old aged members who completed more than 75 years. The companies with more than 75 years in this trade, the past presidents, and women entrepreneurs were also felicitated. There was an expo with 7-8 exhibitors which included: Rushil Decor, ACE Mica, Signature Laminates, Advance Laminates, Tribeca Plywood, Aura Plywood, Super cal adhesive etc and the Ply Reporter was the media partner of the event.
The invitees in the programme included president of ILMA, Mr Vikas Agarwal; President of Plywood Association, Mr Vasantbhai Patel; President of Particle Board Association Mr Amritbhai Patel, President of Gujarat Timber Merchants Federation Mr Babubhai, etc. Mr. Rushil Thakkar and Mr Jikesh Thakkar from Rushil Decor were also among the invitees.
There were also panel discussions with eminent industry personalities. Mr Chirag Doshi, Honorary Secretary of IIID gave brief idea on what will be future requirements. The event also witnessed the felicitation of past presidents of ATMA, launching of directory cum souvenir, etc.
The celebration of event also had a documentary on ATMA shown. A motivational speech by Mr Jay Vasavda followed by an entertainment program and gala dinner followed by a small hilarious Gujarati play THE UNITED STATES OF PADA NI POL – a story in which the characters, getting united to achieve the individual’s dreams.
